Dangote Cement’s planned London listing could improve global investor access without recreating Seplat’s historic cross-market valuation gap - Joshua Agbroko
Seplat Energy Plc’s NGX shares traded at premiums of up to 40%–60% over their LSE-implied value during parts of 2024 and 2025. However, that gap has since compressed to approximately 7%, reflecting improved market liquidity and reduced settlement friction following Nigeria’s transition to T+1.
Dangote Cement Plc’s larger market capitalisation and deeper domestic trading base should support more efficient price discovery between Lagos and London. For investors, the likely outcome is a real but modest cross-exchange premium, rather than a repeat of Seplat’s earlier dislocation.
