Shameik Moore Opens Up on Pressure of Playing Iconic Breeze in Raising Kanan.

Actor Shameik Moore has spoken about the challenge of portraying Breeze, one of the most anticipated characters in the Power universe, saying he understood the high expectations that came with joining the final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Moore said stepping into the role required him to deliver an outstanding performance from the moment he appeared on screen.

Speaking during an interview with Romeo International, the actor explained that he had to discover and fully embody the character before filming, noting that fans had spent years imagining who Breeze was.

According to him, unlike other cast members who had several seasons to develop their roles, he had no room for a gradual evolution and had to make an immediate impact.

“I didn't really know Breeze internally that much,” Moore said. “I needed to find that character. I also know the timeline and what I'm up against. I think the real pressure is I have to take advantage of every second I have on screen.”

Breeze is introduced in the final season of Raising Kanan as an ambitious and intelligent drug kingpin from East New York who expands his criminal operations into South Jamaica, Queens.

The character takes young Kanan Stark under his wing, setting in motion events that shape the future of the Power franchise and the lives of several major characters.

Moore is widely recognised for his performances in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Dope, and Wu-Tang: An American Saga. His casting as Breeze generated significant excitement among fans, who have long regarded the character as one of the biggest mysteries in the Power universe.

The actor noted that his approach to the role was driven by a desire to meet the expectations of longtime viewers. He said every appearance on screen mattered because of Breeze's importance to the storyline and the anticipation surrounding the character's long-awaited debut.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is currently streaming on Starz, with the introduction of Breeze marking one of the defining moments of the series' final season. Moore's performance is expected to provide fresh insight into a character whose influence has been referenced throughout the Power franchise for years.
