NOW LETS TALK ABOUT THE BEAUTIFUL GAME THAT BRINGS US TOGETHER 😊❤️⚽
THE GAME OF FOOTBALL ❤️⚽❤️

Just this semester in school one of my lecturers said something that captured my thoughts and I realised something 🙂
In his words "We rather have the game football as a religion, and as an identity, instead of what we have today"
And I asked him why he said that.."he replied: that during his service in the North he had an Hausa friend who always said he hated the Igbos so so much that he never wanted anything to do with them, and I asked him why he kept on saying because they're not his people and they're this and that, but during an international tournament or any football match against the Nigerian national team and any other country, whenever Nigeria scored a goal or especially won a match he was always so happy that he would buy drinks for everyone..and the funniest part is that in the Nigerian national team *Alex Iwobi* is his favourite player 😂
So I asked him one day if he knew where this Iwobi came from? And he said "yes of course why won't I know where my main man is from" and I caught him right there..."I thought you said you wanted nothing to do with the Igbos no matter what?"
He smiled and said something "what ever issue I have with the Igbos is tied to religion, and political differences, and has nothing to do with the beautiful game of Football ⚽" he even went on to say that he's an Hausa man but anytime he watches the national team play, he's a Nigerian First before considering his religion or tribe..and I learnt something very important from all I heard which is
(We are divided by so many things around us..things like politics, religion, and even our cultural identity, but there is something that brings us altogether, something that breaks our boundaries, something that makes one not care about the language he speaks or the one another person does, something that brings us joy in unison and sometimes the opposite but still in unison, and this thing is Football ❤️⚽❤️ and not football but sports entirely) And guess what that gave to me..hope...it gave me the hope that despite our political and cultural differences and all that has been going on, that there is a point where all Nigerians will come together as Nigerians irrespective of where one comes from and I wish that the hope becomes reality ❤️❤️❤️
