16. Gokyo Lakes – Nepal

Gokyo Lakes are a spectacular system of high-altitude glacial lakes located in the Everest (Khumbu) region of Nepal, within Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sitting at elevations of approximately 4,700–5,000 meters (15,400–16,400 feet), they are among the highest freshwater lake systems in the world.
