NBA Selects Shehu of Borno as Royal Father for Annual Conference.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, as the Royal Father of the Day for the opening ceremony of its 66th Annual General Conference (NBA-AGC 2026) in Port Harcourt. The NBA said the traditional ruler’s participation recognizes the important role of traditional institutions in promoting justice, national unity, peace, and democratic governance. His presence is expected to add prestige and cultural significance to the conference, which will bring together legal professionals and key stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond.
