SET UP AGAINST YOURSELF

Genesis 11:4,7-8 KJV
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. [7] Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. [8] So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

The moment you become casual and careless with the devil, he will embarrass you by making you work against yourself. The suggestions or the advice of the devil is never going to be to your advantage but it is moving you into a life of disobedience in order to make you fall victim to what will eternally befall him. This is why you should never listen to the counsel of the devil.
The Bible says it was orchestrated in the mind of the people to build a tower so that they will not be scattered but to live together. They never knew that the devil will make you do something that will produce the opposite result of what he is advising you to work for. He told Adam and Eve that eating the forbidden fruit will make them become as God. They never knew that doing so would make them lose the position and the privilege of being God. Immediately they ate the fruit, they realized that they moved from grace to grass. The glory that made them God departed.
Romans 3:23 KJV For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
When he advised Jesus to turn stone to bread, he was trying to tempt Him so the fast can be broken at the wrong time in order to stop what God wanted to do. He will always make a man walk in the opposite direction of his destiny. From our text, as the people were trying not to be scattered and he initiated in their minds to build a tower, he actually knew that the response of God to such an act will be to scatter the people. You need to be careful so you do not allow the devil to make you walk in the opposite direction of your destiny. There is nothing he will do for you that will ever be to your advantage.
He will drive into something that will give you temporary pleasure with attendant calamity eventually. He can lure you into sexual immorality just because he wants to infect you with sexually transmitted diseases. He will make you addicted to drinking alcoholbecause he targets your liver so you will never enjoy a long life or live a life of sickness at your old age. He can as well make you love smoking but preparing subtly for such people the incurable disease called cancer. There are some that the devil has not only wasted their resources by making them addicted to hard drugs but also affecting their brain. Do not trust the devil with any advice but live true to whatever God instructs according to the Bible.
