🛡 176 Kwara abductees freed after six months in captivity

Security forces have rescued 176 people — mainly women and children — abducted during a February 3 terrorist attack on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State.

The victims, held for six months by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, were confirmed freed on Wednesday by the Kwara State Government. A video that emerged after the February attack showed dozens of women and children in captivity, some carrying infants, with several children appearing visibly malnourished. The state government did not disclose operational details or whether any suspects were arrested.

Kwara's Senior Special Assistant on Communications, Ibraheem Abdullateef, credited security forces and President Bola Tinubu for the rescue, stating: "We are grateful!"
