Arsenal Agree £75m Deal to Sign Bruno Guimaraes From Newcastle

Arsenal have agreed a £75 million fee with Newcastle United for captain Bruno Guimaraes, with the Brazilian midfielder set to undergo a medical before completing his move to the Emirates Stadium.

The 28-year-old has been Mikel Arteta's priority target all summer and had informed Newcastle earlier in the transfer window that he wished to join the Premier League champions if a suitable offer arrived. Personal terms are reported to have been agreed for some time.

Arsenal are paying the full fee up front. Newcastle, who signed Guimaraes from Lyon for £38m in 2022, will make a significant profit — though he becomes their third major departure this summer, following Anthony Gordon to Barcelona and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham.

Guimaraes is currently awaiting permission to leave Newcastle's training camp in La Manga, Spain, to complete the formalities of the transfer.
