Former Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana has warned that the Nigeria shirt has lost its prestige, calling for a fundamental reset of the national team's identity.

Olofinjana pointed to back-to-back World Cup failures as evidence of a deeper problem — Nigeria were eliminated in 2022 qualifying after losing to Ghana on the away-goals rule, and again failed to reach the next edition.

The former midfielder stressed that representing Nigeria must feel significant again, urging those involved to restore the standards and pride historically associated with the Eagles.
