⚖️ EFCC Freezes Osun Salary Account 10 Days to Election
The EFCC has frozen an Osun State Government account held at First Bank, placing it on "Post No Debit" status just 10 days before the August 15 governorship election. The account is reportedly used to pay workers' salaries.
Governor Ademola Adeleke had alleged hours earlier that the EFCC was planning to freeze state accounts ahead of the poll. His government described the action as unlawful and an attempt to cripple government operations. The state's Attorney General, Oluwole Jimi-Bada, announced that Osun has commenced legal action to challenge the freeze. The EFCC has not yet issued a statement on the matter.
