I agree that discipline and accountability can exist alongside a healthy work environment.
But if you ever find yourself in an organization where you’re constantly being managed through fear, threats, or punishment, it’s worth asking yourself if it’s truly worth it.
If you’ve been there for a while and nothing changes, start taking practical steps. Update your CV, apply for other opportunities, and prepare your exit. You may not even realize how much damage that environment has done to you until you finally leave.
No job is worth sacrificing your peace of mind. This isn’t idealistic advice; it’s practical advice. Don’t lose yourself because of a paycheck. The truth is, if you leave today, the organization will keep moving. Your mental well-being is far more difficult to replace than any job.
