Military Personnel Get Major Salary Boost as Tinubu Approves Pay Rise

President Bola Tinubu has approved a salary increase of 30% to 80% for about 250,000 Nigerian military personnel. The new pay structure, which takes effect from September 1, 2026, is aimed at improving the welfare of members of the Armed Forces in recognition of their service and sacrifices. Junior personnel will receive the highest increases, while senior officers will also benefit from the new salary structure.
