What is interesting here is that the Governor of Judah and Prophet Jeremiah chose to live among the people.

I think that is a great lesson the Nigerian political elite may need to learn. How do you claim to be leading people who you do not know their struggles?

Another interesting point to be made here is the choice by Jeremiah to stay with his people in their distressed state rather than grabbing the opportunity to run away to a foreign land. He was offered to go to Babylon and be treated well by Captain Nebuzaradan.

However, he understood one thing: A stranger in a foreign land will always be a stranger, no matter how well you are treated. It is thus no surprise that the other Jews who had been scattered abroad decided to return once they found some semblance of peace had returned to their land, Judah.

The need for government to come out its constant wicked mode in which it continues to use flimsy excuse to destroy the investment of Diasporan Nigerians need to stop. If we want the citizens that were forced to flee the country due to diverse reasons that made them to leave to come back, the government should stop discouraging their return due to whatever selfish agenda they and their political cohorts have against them.

You cannot be asking people to come and invest on one hand and be mindlessly destroying their property on the other. Even if there were mistakes made, where it could be fixed, let it be fixed. I know our people have their issues, but this negative narratives scare people away rather than encourage them to stay or return. Like they say, may Nigeria not happen to us.

However, there is a way out in all these. Accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, He will surely guide your steps to do the right thing and make the right choices per time.

Jesus is Lord!
