I have read the autobiographies of several very prominent persons across the globe and noticed that many of them expressed sadness, some even regret, that their parents were no longer alive to see them in the pinnacle of their careers.

Their pains often stemmed from the fact that they were so consumed with their own personal life vicissitudes they hardly had time for the parents.

If you're privileged to still have your parents (either or both) around show them the much love you can in whatever way you can. Doesn't matter that you're still struggling; they too cared for you even while struggling. Just that they shielded you from their daily financial struggles while providing for you.

Don't wait till you 'blow' or 'hammer' in life so you can build a duplex or an SUV for them. Checking on them through regular phone calls, physical presence, small airtime, etc. goes a long way to connect and show you care. When you eventually 'make' it even when they're no longer around your consolation will be that you did try according to your strength to love them.
