Let’s talk about something quite controversial.

Is it by force to have kids?

Before you jump into the comments, let’s think about it for a moment.

Many people want to have children for different reasons. Some say it’s to continue the family legacy, while others say it’s so they’ll have someone to take care of them in old age.

But are those reasons enough?

Life is unpredictable. Entire family lineages have ended unexpectedly, and many elderly parents are cared for in nursing or care homes by professionals rather than their children.

What if we were raised to see parenthood differently?

The truth is, many people have children they can barely afford to care for. Others work so hard to provide that they hardly have the time to be present and raise them the way they would like.

Children are a beautiful gift, and for many people, becoming a parent is one of life’s greatest joys. But it should be a choice made out of love, readiness, and genuine desire—not because society says it’s the next box to tick.

Whether you choose to have children or not, your value as a person does not decrease.

No pressure.

It’s better to intentionally choose the life that is right for you than to bring children into the world because you felt you had no choice.

Mild Uchenna: My thought, Children are obviously a precious Gift from God. But every couple should be allowed to make this decision.
Ibukunoladunni: I agree with you. It has become a social responsibility /expectation instead of a personal and well thought out decision.
Rejoice Obiageri Ibe: Btw do you know how peaceful your life can be without children? Ask parents why they send the kids for holidays .
Japhet Enebeli: It's better not to give birth to children than to bring them into this world and not being able to cater for them. I don't think Child Services work well in this country.
Gladden Ngozi: I think the real issue isn't whether people should have children, but why they choose to. Children shouldn't be born to satisfy societal expectations, preserve a family name, or serve as retirement plans. They deserve to be wanted, loved, and intentionally raised.
Omotoso Taiwo Yemi: Children are gifts from our creator, even in one of the holy books, God himself wasn't compulsory given birth, only if you want, but the choice is an individual choice, left for me, I won't advise anyone to have or not to have
