Nigeria has been bedevilled by maladministration. A proper evaluation of the persistent crisis of maladministration reveals that the country’s staggering levels of poverty and hunger are not just accidents of geography or economic shocks. Instead, they are designed outcomes engineered, sustained, and tolerated by the actions and inactions of Nigeria’s dominant groups.
By weaponizing identity, The majorities—across tribes, religions, regions, and political formations—have weaponized identity and consistently subordinated national development to parochial elite accumulation.
In my next post, I will dive into how these majorities have held a nation of over 200 million people hostage.
