Nigeria Finish 7th Overall at 2026 Commonwealth Games With 24-Medal Haul

Team Nigeria concluded the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland as Africa's highest-ranked nation and 7th overall, claiming 10 gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals.

President Bola Tinubu congratulated the athletes in a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, describing the haul as "a testament to their hard work and perseverance" and praising every member of the squad for representing the country "with honour, dignity, and pride."

Tinubu also commended the Nigeria Olympic Committee and National Sports Commission for their support, and pledged continued government investment in training facilities and sporting institutions to prepare athletes for future continental and global competitions.
