THE REAL CHRISTIAN PROBLEM
Many believers try to work, struggle, and strain to obtain what God has already made freely available. They confuse receiving with achieving.

REFLECTION
Romans 5:17 says grace and righteousness come to those who receive them. Not to those who earn them, achieve them, or fight for them. Just receive them. Think about how you receive a gift on your birthday. You do not pay for it. You do not work for it. You simply open your hands and take it. That is exactly how you get grace and righteousness from God. Your part is not to strain. Your part is to open your heart and receive what Jesus Christ has already purchased for you at the cross. The moment you stop trying to earn it and simply receive it, everything changes.

I am a receiver, not a struggler. I have received grace, righteousness, and sonship as gifts in Christ.

• Stop striving for something God has already given you.
• Practice saying, “I receive,” instead of, “I am trying to get.” Open your hands physically in prayer today as a picture of receiving from God.
• Thank God today for one gift you have simply received by faith.
• Share with someone how simple it is to receive from God.

I receive the grace of God. I receive the righteousness of God. I receive my place as a child of God, not by my works, but by faith in Jesus Christ.
