๐ณ๐ฌ Family paid N50m ransom to free Kebbi judge
The family of Kebbi State High Court judge Justice Faruk Hassan Bunza has confirmed paying N50 million to secure his release after eight days in captivity.
Justice Bunza was abducted on July 26 when armed bandits stormed his residence in Bunza Local Government Area shortly after he returned home. He was freed after the ransom was paid, despite police opposition to the payment.
Kidnappings targeting prominent individuals by armed bandits remain a persistent security challenge across Nigeria's northwest.

Felix: Justice should never come with a price tag, and no family should have to choose between financial ruin and the life of a loved one; this is a reminder that Nigeria must strengthen security and ensure criminals face the full weight of the law.
Felix: Safety should never become a privilege that families must buy, because justice loses its meaning when freedom comes with a ransom.
