REPORT - July 2026 Was The Driest/ Possibly Hottest Month In Southern England, Since Met Office Records Began In The UK 200 Years Ago. England & Wales In July 2026, Recorded Their Driest Weather Since Records Began In 1836. The Current HEATWAVE Was Made More Intense & More Likely By Fossil Fuel Driven Climate Crisis. The MET OFFICE Said The Hot& Dry Conditions Are Affecting Farmers, Wildlife & Of Course The Brit Public( COMMENT- Can U Still Remember The 1976 Heatwave In England?). The Met Office Has Warned That Current Heatwave Has Affected The Amount Of Water Available For Public & Business Use. Last Week, Half Of England & The Whole Of Wales Were Declared To Be " Officially In Drought". In England 40% Of The Population Are Under A " Hosepipe Ban"( No Watering Of Gardens& Economical Use Of Water In Washing Of Vehicles.). The National Farmers Union Has Warned That The Prevailing Drought Could Lead To Shortage Of Crops & Foods In The UK. The Met Office Said This Week That JULY 2026 Was The Driest Month On Record With Only 6.5mm Of Rainfall In England; In July 2026 WALES Too Had Its Driest Mth Ever & Recorded Only 9.3mm Of Rainfall. Focusing On England , Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex & 15 Other Counties Had Less Than 1mm Of Rainfall In July 2026. THANKFULLY, The Met Office Said WATER RESERVES " Should Be Enough For The Coming Mths, Until The Next Period Of Sustained Rainfall". HOWEVER, Concerning South- East England, The Met Office Predicts Drought Will Continue &" Hose Pipe Ban" Remain In- Effect. ( Comment- In Nigeria We Complain Of " No Pipe Borne Water", Thankfully Most Homes& Offices in Cities Are Now Equipped With Private Bore- Holes, Guaranteeing 365 Day Supply Of Clean Drinking Water. Homes In Towns& Villages Have A Water Well On The Premises. The Nigerian Federal Govt Are Doing Their Best To Improve Pipe Borne Water Infrastructure & Water Supply In All The States. A Huge Hurdle To Overcome, Bearing In Mind 24/7 , Continuos Electricity Is Required To PUMP This Pipe Borne Water. However , We Believe & Trust That The Fed Govt Of Nigeria Will Improve Both Electricity & Pipe Borne Water Supply( Rome Was Not Built In A Day). J.B.Ade- The Librarian.
