AI is powerful but Human judgment is priceless

-The future belongs to those who know how to use both.

Earlier this morning, I had an interesting debate with ChatGPT over whether Chief Bode George is a founding father of the PDP.

ChatGPT initially answered yes, relying on widely repeated media reports and public claims. I challenged the response and insisted that it check the official PDP website, which distinguishes officially recognized founding fathers and members from other party leaders.

After reviewing the party’s own records, ChatGPT revised its answer and acknowledged that the official source should take precedence over secondary reports.

I then asked a follow-up question: Who is more intelligent—humans or artificial intelligence?

Part of ChatGPT’s response was:

“AI often outperforms humans in computation, recall, and speed. But humans remain indispensable for judgment, accountability, and deciding which evidence should prevail. The strongest results usually come from combining both: AI can rapidly surface information, while humans critically evaluate the quality and authority of the evidence.”

That exchange reinforced something I have always believed: Artificial intelligence is an incredibly powerful tool, but it is still a tool. It can process enormous amounts of information in seconds, yet it can also be misled by claims that are widely repeated if they are not checked against the most authoritative sources.

The lesson is simple: Don’t outsource your judgment to AI. Use it to enhance your thinking, not replace it. The best outcomes come when humans ask the right questions, verify the evidence, and apply sound judgment.

That’s exactly why I value AI—not because it is infallible, but because it becomes far more powerful when paired with informed human reasoning.
