I agree with Governor Charles Soludo that Nigeria should encourage and prioritize made-in-Nigeria products. Supporting local industries will create jobs, strengthen our manufacturing base, reduce import dependence, and stimulate economic growth.

However, I respectfully disagree with the view that Nigeria's micro economy is fully stabilized. The reality for many Nigerians is different. The purchasing power of the average citizen has been significantly eroded by inflation, rising food prices, transportation costs, and other essential living expenses. Today, many families struggle to afford even their basic needs.

Promoting local products is the right path, but for such policies to achieve their full impact, there must also be sustained efforts to improve the standard of living, increase real incomes, and restore the purchasing power of ordinary Nigerians. A strong economy is one where citizens cannot only produce locally but also comfortably afford the products and services they need.
