Morning Health Tip

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) is usually caused by bacteria that spread from the vagina or cervix into the uterus, fallopian tubes, or ovaries. The most common causes are untreated sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia and gonorrhoea, but other bacteria can also be responsible.
Your risk of PID is higher if you have unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, a previous STI or PID, or if a vaginal infection is left untreated. Seeking early treatment for infections and practicing safer sex can greatly reduce your risk.

Protect your reproductive health—don't ignore unusual symptoms.
