I am Kigoro.

I am the ancient log where my fathers gathered,
beneath the shade of time.

There they laughed and shared wine,
made laws and healed wounds,
settled disputes and forged unity.

Around me, stories were told,
memories were made,
and victories became legends.

I am the keeper of their voices,
the witness of their wisdom,
the son of the soil.

I am African; I will not lower my voice.
