Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex C. Otti, OFR, on Sunday worshipped alongside family members, well wishers and members of Apostolic Fire Ministries International at a thanksgiving service held in honour of the Founder and General Overseer of the Ministry, Prophet Mike Akindapo, to mark his birthday.
At the church service in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the Governor paid tribute to the cleric for his steadfast faith, prayers and encouragement over many years.
Governor Otti recalled that Prophet Mike Akindapo remained one of the few people who stood firmly with him throughout his governorship journey, from 2014 until the eventual victory in 2023, despite the disappointments that followed the 2015 and 2019 elections. He thanked God for preserving his life through several difficult moments and life threatening experiences, acknowledging that divine mercy and grace have sustained him every step of the way.
The Governor also appreciated members of the ministry for their commitment and support for their spiritual leader and prayed that God would continue to bless, strengthen and enlarge the work of the church.
In his message, Prophet Mike Akindapo praised the visible progress recorded in Abia under Governor Otti's leadership, pointing to improvements in road infrastructure, transportation, healthcare, education, environmental sanitation and waste management.
While preaching, with 1 Kings 17, the prophet urged believers never to give up on God's promises, reminding them not to allow anyone to define their future, never to lose confidence in themselves, to remain hopeful because help will come, to continue trusting God and His prophets, and to believe that God's blessings come daily.
The Prophet also prayed for Governor Otti, asking God to grant him greater wisdom, continued protection, outstanding success in office and victory in the 2027 governorship election.
Among government officials who accompanied the Governor were the Commissioner for Petroleum and Solid Minerals, Professor Joel Ogbonna, the Mayor of Ukwa East LGA, Hon. Chibunna Akara, and the Mayor of Ukwa West LGA, Pastor Dike Nwankwo, alongside other members of the Governor's entourage.
