🚨 Scientists Made Light Behave Like Charged Matter
Physicists have achieved something once thought impossible: making photons (particles of light) show a behavior similar to electrons in the famous Quantum Hall Effect.
Unlike electrons, photons have no charge, so they shouldn’t react to magnetic fields this way. But researchers created conditions where light followed the same precise quantum patterns as charged particles.
This breakthrough could improve ultra-precise measurements and help advance future photonic quantum technologies.
