This is for some of us who woke up this morning and let out that familiar sigh, "Oh no, today is Monday, I don't feel like doing anything." I understand that feeling more than you know, but before you let it settle in and steal your whole day, let me leave three thoughts with you.
The first is this: 🌿Monday is not punishing you, it is simply giving you a fresh page. Whatever last week looked like, however it ended, good or messy, Monday does not carry that weight forward unless you choose to carry it yourself. You are not obligated to drag last week's tiredness into this week's opportunity. Let the page be blank. Let today be new.
The second is this: 🌿you do not need to feel motivated before you begin. So many of us wait for the feeling of readiness to arrive before we move, and it rarely arrives on command. Discipline is simply doing the small next right thing even when your spirit feels heavy and your body feels slow. Feelings will always catch up once you start moving. They almost never show up first.
The third is this:🌿 somebody, somewhere, is praying for the very Monday you are dreading. Somebody without a job is praying for a reason to wake up early and go somewhere. Somebody in a hospital bed is praying for the strength to simply sit up. What feels like a burden to you this morning is, to someone else, an answered prayer they have not yet received. Do not despise what you have been given.
So take a deep breath. You do not have to feel like doing anything to still show up and do something. Let today be small, steady, and honest, and that will be more than enough.
