Alleged thief brandishing weapons, i must say the word, effrontery.
I'm not encouraging theft, but we have recorded how citizens were killed because of alleged stolen phone that does not worth the life of two full-grown cows. It's possible he was protecting himself from jungle justice until the police arrives.
We know how angry crowd behaves in Nigeria because you won't hear the side of the dead lion after the hunter returns victorious. The alleged thief or any criminal is not supposed to surrender to the angry crowd but the police (and i hope they arrived on time) because he may not have oxygen left in him to say his story.
It's also risky, how furious the alleged thief positioned himself. Thankfully, no one was crazy enough to approach him maybe out of over zealousness. The crowd is not trained to dismantle such an armed person.
Let the government improve the visibility of law enforcement in streets and corners of the nation especially areas where jungle justice is prevalent
