🌍 West Africa needs $100bn yearly but misallocates capital — AfDB

West Africa requires between $90 billion and $100 billion annually to meet its development goals, but the African Development Bank says the core problem is not a shortage of funds — it is how capital is mobilised and deployed.

The AfDB described existing financing as poorly mobilised, fragmented and misallocated, suggesting structural reforms to capital allocation could unlock resources already available within the region rather than relying solely on new external funding.
