Between lovers, one truth we have failed to address is the reality of breakups. We have allowed pain to define them instead of allowing reality to shape our understanding of them.

A breakup is not always proof that love was false. Sometimes it is the moment reality catches up with promises that emotion made too quickly. Love may begin with possibility, but it survives only where character, timing, values, and choice continue to agree.

Pain is the loudest voice after love ends, so we mistake it for the only truth. But pain is a witness, not a judge. Reality asks harder questions: Were we truly compatible? Did we grow in the same direction? Were we committed to the same future, or only to the feeling of the present?

When we let pain write the story, every ending becomes a failure. When we let reality write it, some endings become lessons, some become mercy, and some become the necessary cost of refusing to live inside an illusion
