The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections, closing months of speculation over who made the ballot and who did not.

The list left out several high-profile politicians, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, senator Ned Nwoko, former Ogun governor Gbenga Daniel, former Gombe governor Danjuma Goje and senator Garba Maidoki. The final roster was displayed at INEC offices after earlier party disputes and primary-season reversals🤷
NAMES LEFT OUT
Jonathan did not appear on the list despite claims by a Tanimu Turaki-led PDP faction that it had presented him as its presidential candidate. Nwoko was also missing in Delta North, where former governor Ifeanyi Okowa emerged as the APC candidate. Goje lost the APC ticket in Gombe to retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammed Ahmed.

PARTY RESHUFFLES The supplied material says the APC reinstated six serving senators after reviewing appeals from its primary election committee, but many others remained excluded. Among the lawmakers not on the final list were senators Shehu Buba and Mansur Soro in Bauchi State.
