One of the pieces of advice my dad gave me before I left Nigeria for the United States was this:
"If you truly want to enjoy your marriage, money and raise your children the way you desire, don't marry an American woman."
That warning came amidst rumours about divorce saga, loss of properties and family dispute among others.
Do you think his advice still holds true today, or was it simply based on his personal beliefs and experiences?

Gladden Ngozi: I understand where he's coming from. Parents usually advise based on what they've seen or experienced. That said, no nationality has a monopoly on good or bad spouses. Character is what truly matters.

Omotoso Taiwo Yemi: I won't stop anybody from marrying a white woman, but make sure that your savings are in Nigeria and keep the little you need abroad that you can let go in case something happens.
