Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex C. Otti , OFR, earlier today joined family members, friends and well wishers at Christ Embassy Church, Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to witness the solemnisation of the marriage between Barr. Comfort Nwogu and Pastor Osas Usunalele. The bride is the daughter of Hon. Allen Wogu of Obingwa Local Government Area, a serving Commissioner in the Abia State Local Government Service Commission.
The Governor congratulated the newly married couple and prayed for God's abundant blessings upon their home, asking that they be blessed with children, good health, peace, wisdom and the resources needed to build a happy and successful family.
Drawing from a long standing relationship with the bride's family, Governor Otti recalled attending the wedding of her parents three decades ago and witnessing her birth, describing the occasion as a deeply fulfilling moment. He urged the couple to cherish the friendship that brought them together and never allow the pressures of marriage to weaken the bond they already share. According to him, differences are inevitable in every home, but what keeps a marriage strong is the willingness of both husband and wife to resolve issues with maturity, patience and mutual respect.
The Governor advised the couple to keep family disagreements away from unnecessary public attention, noting that involving relatives or outsiders in marital disputes often complicates issues rather than solving them. He encouraged them to seek counsel only when necessary from trusted and spiritually mature ministers who genuinely desire the success of their marriage. He also reminded them that forgiveness should become a daily habit, stressing that a peaceful home is built when couples learn to overlook offences, show understanding and continually choose love over resentment.
The ceremony attracted many dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Abia State Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike ; the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sir Prince Uzor Nwachukwu ; the Commissioner for Petroleum and Solid Minerals, Prof. Joel Ogbonna; the Chairman of the Abia State Local Government Service Commission, Elder James Nwokocha; fellow Commissioners of the Commission, the Mayors of Obingwa, Osisioma and Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Areas, alongside family members, church leaders and other distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate the joyous occasion.
