Adeshina Ends 72-Year Nigerian Wait With High Jump Bronze in Glasgow

Nigeria's Temitope Adeshina won bronze in the women's high jump at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, ending a 72-year national wait for a medal in the event and becoming the first Nigerian woman ever to reach the podium in the discipline.

Adeshina cleared 1.90 metres to finish third in a highly competitive final, behind Australia's Eleanor Patterson, who took gold, and compatriot Nicola Olyslagers, who claimed silver.
