Sometimes I admire people who were raised with so much simplicity that contentment comes naturally to them. They don’t feel the need to compete with anyone because they’re genuinely grateful for what they have.
Then there are people who grew up experiencing quality. They know what good feels like. They’ve tasted comfort, excellence, and a certain standard of living. Life happens, and for a season they may no longer be able to afford that same lifestyle. They adjust because they have to, but it doesn’t mean they don’t remember what was once normal to them.
I think that’s a different kind of challenge.
It’s one thing to never know what you’re missing. It’s another thing to know exactly what you’re missing and still choose to keep going without bitterness.
May we all have the grace to remain content in every season, while still working towards a better one.
