Your Excellencies, 240 million Nigerians are writing to you today in deep concern and with a heavy heart following the tragic incident of August 1, 2026, in which two Nigerian police inspectors — Tanko Musa and Ajubi Onah — were killed at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Junction in Kaduna. Multiple reputable news outlets, including Blueprint Newspapers, Daily Post Nigeria, and NaijaWhisper, have confirmed the details of this devastating event.

A Toyota Hilux driven by a military officer rammed into these officers while they were performing their duties. Eyewitnesses reported that the impact was fatal, and videos circulating online show the tragic aftermath. The Kaduna Police Command has confirmed the incident, noting that the military driver is currently receiving treatment. While allegations of drunk driving remain under investigation, the loss of these officers is undeniable and deeply painful for their families, colleagues, and the nation.

We, the Nigerian people — across all 36 states and 774 Local Government Areas — demand justice for the families of Inspector Musa and Inspector Onah. Their service and sacrifice must not be forgotten, and their families deserve full compensation, transparency, and support.

We also demand for urgent and decisive action to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again:

Enact and enforce strict laws against driving while drunk.

Improve road infrastructure across all 36 states and 774 LGAs.

Deploy CCTV and drone surveillance nationwide to monitor and protect Nigerians.

Strengthen coordination between military and police authorities to ensure accountability and safety.

These demands are not slogans. They are necessary steps to safeguard Nigerian lives and restore public trust. We demand that these actions begin immediately.

Nigeria cannot afford to lose more innocent citizens and public servants due to preventable incidents. We demand you to act now.
