My second post of the day.

I know that life will not always unfold the way we expect it to. Some days it flows exactly as planned, and other days it hands us something we never asked for. But even in the middle of all that unpredictability, there is one word that has the power to lift us, quietly, into a kind of perfection that circumstances alone can never give us. That word is: I am grateful.

Look at your life today, whatever shape it is currently in, perfect or imperfect, settled or still finding its way. And in the midst of it all, simply tell yourself, "I am grateful," to the Creator of the universe, to God, for life, for breath, for another day given freely, without our asking.

Because gratitude does not wait for a perfect life before it shows up. It walks straight into the imperfect one, and somehow, quietly, begins to make it whole. I am grateful. Are you?
