This is what we are doing to each other in Nigeria: we ignore the log of wood (plank) in our own eyes & keep looking for the tiny speck in someone else’s eyes! We fall into that cycles of mutual accusation, everyone brandishes the faults of their neighbour, no individual or group is willing to bear the burden of first-person accountability, we use the gaze of the other to deflect from our own inner decay. We police the society, to distract from our own personal moral anarchy.
