David looked at his wife and smiled.

"Are the children ready?" he asked.

"They've been ready for the last ten minutes," she laughed.

Their two children couldn't stop talking about the wedding they were going to attend. Their daughter couldn't wait to wear her beautiful dress, while their little son proudly showed everyone his tiny suit.

It was supposed to be a day filled with laughter, family, music, and unforgettable memories.

Before they left, David locked the front door and quietly whispered, "We'll be back before night."

He had no idea those would be the last words he would ever say before leaving that house.
