Your Excellency Esteemed Governor Otti, we hope this message finds you well. We want to begin by acknowledging the remarkable work you have been doing in Abia State. Your leadership, energy, and commitment to development are recognized not only within Nigeria but across the global community. 240 million Nigerians, us included, appreciate your dedication to improving the lives of Abia folks and 240 million Nigerians

It is with great respect that we write to you regarding the recently announced ₦200 million fee for presidential candidates to erect campaign billboards within Abia State. While we understand that states often implement regulations to manage political advertising, we respectfully ask that you abolish this particular fee.

Nigeria is a nation of over 240 million people, and every citizen has the constitutional right to contest for the presidency without facing financial barriers that could limit participation. 240 million Nigerians are already experiencing significant hardship—hunger, unemployment, poverty, and economic strain. Additional financial obstacles may discourage capable leaders from stepping forward.

Your legacy as a working governor and a reform-minded leader is already strong. Abolishing this fee would further reinforce your reputation for fairness, accessibility, and democratic openness. It would also ensure that history—and your children—remember you as a leader who protected the rights of all Nigerians and upheld the principles of free political participation.

We respectfully urge you, and all 36 governors across Nigeria, to support an environment where every Nigerian can participate in the democratic process without obstruction or undue financial burden. Doing so will strengthen our democracy and allow 240 million Nigerians to freely decide who they want to lead the nation in 2027.
