𝐔𝐊𝐖𝐔𝐀𝐍𝐈 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐅𝐅 𝐈𝐍 𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐉𝐄𝐃𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒 ₦70,000 𝐏𝐀𝐘 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐄

The Performing Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon. C.S Possible Ajede, PhD, today announced a ₦70,000 salary increase for over 168 casual workers of the Ukwuani Local Government Council.

Announcing the pay rise, Barr. Ajede commended the workers for their diligence and dedication despite what he described as their meagre salaries.

He noted that the salary increase was aimed at rewarding the casual workers for their relentless commitment to duty which he said has not gone unnoticed.

This announcement was made during a comprehensive heart-to-heart interaction with the different categories of casual workers and officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) attached to the council at the Vice Chairman's Office Complex.

The Ukwuani Council boss in his brief charge encouraged the workers to continue to give their best at their respective duty posts even as he acknowledged the services of the Civil Defence officers who have served and guarded the council for decades.

Speaking further, Barr. Ajede reiterated his administration's commitment to the holistic implementation of every aspect of the Enuoma Ukwuani 2026 Budget, which, according to him, is designed to drive a massive Human Capital Development across the LGA.

The #DoMoreAgenda Torchbearer also noted that his administration has made deliberate efforts toward implementing people-oriented programmes aimed at promoting the continued growth and development of the Ukwuani people.

In his appraisal of the empowerment programmes implemented so far, Barr. Ajede said the success stories and testimonies from previous initiatives have been encouraging. And according to him, his #DoMoreAgenda is committed to investing even more in that direction.

"We are pleased with the testimonies and success stories from our previous empowerment initiatives, and we are encouraged by the positive outcomes to continue to support our people to grow," he stated.

Continuing, Barr. Ajede disclosed that the coming weeks would witness a massive harvest of projects and the commencement of the IFEOMA ZU'OSA Empowerment Series.

According to him, the recent presentation of 100 birds and poultry feeds to over 300 beneficiaries marked the beginning of a series of empowerment programmes to come.

"My administration's #DoMoreAgenda is a strategic blueprint for the multifaceted development of the LGA, as well as the bettering of the lives of our people. Our goal is to ensure that every Ukwuani person is meaningfully engaged and empowered to become self-reliant," he said.

Emphasising the importance of comprehensive Human Capital Development, Barr. Ajede stated that the ongoing training of over 189 beneficiaries in ICT and phone repair, as well as the training of more than 395 Ukwuani Girl Child, were deliberate and practical steps toward equipping Ukwuani people with sellable skills for sustainable livelihoods.

The Ukwuani Council Chairman also disclosed that the over 395 Ukwuani girls who have completed their training in Make Up & Gele, Bridal Hair, Acrylic, resin art, soap making, antiseptic, etc would soon be empowered with the best of starter packs.

In their collective response, the workers expressed their appreciation to the chairman for his compassion and generosity even as they prayed God for his continued blessings upon him as they celebrated the gesture with songs of praise.
