Sports In Nigeria Is All About Administrators’ Self-Interest And Government Looking For Money - Adebajo

We are not serious about sports in Nigeria. Our administrators are driven by self-interest, not by the interests of sports. Sports is too often used as a conduit. Just look at the Commonwealth Games in Aberdeen, it has become a charade. In the 2026 Appropriation Budget, Nigeria did not qualify for the FIFA World Cup, yet funds were allocated for World Cup expenditure and participation.
