Court jails man, four BDC operators over money laundering, illegal forex trading

The federal high court in Lagos has sentenced Sunmonu Olasunkanmi Thaoban to four years imprisonment over money laundering.

Akintayo Aluko, the trial judge, convicted Thaoban for acting as a middleman to internet fraudsters.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the two-count charge when he was arraigned by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos zonal directorate on Thursday.
