Greetings!
I am Harry Agina, and this is another edition of Afro-Scope's AfroLinguistic Etymology.

"WALLAHI," today's word with its Arabic meaning, is a little complex in etymology with Afro-Asiatic family composition made up of 22 member states. Yeah, I know, I am sounding kind-of gibberish now, right? Not to worry, it will all make sense to you when we get to the full story by Asmau.

As you may know, Afro-Scope's AfroLinguistic Etymology series has dual purposes. One is to inform you of words of African origin that have made their way into the mainstream English dictionaries such as the Merriam-Webster and the Oxford dictionaries. The other is to talk about words or slangs that are not there yet, but are on their way due to growing popularity in the world. The idea is predicated on the fact that English, which is the dominant global language, is basically comprised of several languages of the world. The Afro-Scope Project is mandated to establish African position in the scheme of things.
