PRAYER ADVANTAGE
Acts 16:6-7,9-10 KJV
[6] Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, [7] After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. [9] And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. [10] And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel untothem
I have heard many ignorant people say that you cannot bribe God to get advantage spiritually. Whenever you hear such statements, be careful not to allow that line of thinking to take root in your mind or heart. The Scriptures do not support such a position. At the very least, the Bible clearly teaches that whatever a person sows, that same person will surely reap.
Galatians 6:7 KJV
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
This means that you cannot sow much in the place of prayers and reap less than someone who does not pray except in the exceptional case where mercy comes in as a factor. Knowing this should make you take seriously your own part of spiritual demand.
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit stopped Paul from going to preach in Asia and Bithynia. As much as there were souls that needed the gospel in those places, the Holy Spirit did not permit him to go because a man was praying in Macedonia for spiritual visitation. The Holy Spirit sent Paul to the place where there was a demand. Beloved, you must make up your mind to push for what you desire as much as you can, otherwise, somebody that pushes better can buy into the season of favour ahead of you. Jesus said the reason why you do not receive anything is because you do not pray (Matthew 7:7). The Bible went on to say that you do not receive because you are not asking or asking for the wrong thing (James 4:2-3).
God is waiting and watching to see how important your desire is to you by how far you can go. Jesus used the story of the unjust judge to strengthen this understanding that the more you press, the better opportunity you have to get your reward and testimony (Luke 18:2-7). Do not allow yourself to be deceived into thinking that when you carry out spiritual activity, you are bribing God. You are only doing what is spiritually laid down as a factor to moving things in the spirit. If you can stand in the place of prayer like the man in Macedonia, you will be preferred above others. God can stop everything just because He wants to attend to you like He stopped Paul from going to Asia and Bithynia. Press as much as you can spiritually, there is advantage in it.
Daily Task
Mention five ways to strengthen yourself in the place of prayer.
Prayers
1. Lord, I receive grace to do as much as it is expected of me spiritually.
2. Father, I receive grace to do what will give me an edge in life.
