If there is credible evidence that the Lagos Commissioner of Police compromised his neutrality, accountability is necessary. If there is no such evidence, he should not be sanctioned merely because of political pressure.

The standard Nigerians should demand is consistent: no police officer should be above the law, and no police officer should be punished without evidence. The rule of law, not partisan demands, must determine the outcome.
