Your Excellency President Tinubu and Honorable Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele, 240 million Nigerians are writing to you out of deep concern for the current state of our nation and the urgent need for transparency, accountability, and decisive action. Nigerians are suffering, and the hardship has only intensified over the past three years.
Millions of Nigerians continue to face insecurity, unemployment, and rising living costs. The promises made to Nigerians—free electricity, free Wi-Fi/data, improved security, job creation, and economic relief—remain unfulfilled. Nigerians are asking a simple question. Respectfully how many jobs have been created since this administration took office? The public deserves clear, honest answers.
The ongoing killings across the country are devastating families and communities. Foreign investors will not come to Nigeria if terrorism, banditry, and widespread insecurity continue unchecked. Since 1999, Nigerians have endured violence that has robbed the nation of its potential. Security must be treated as the highest priority.
Nigerians are demanding real, tangible improvements:
Free and reliable electricity in the 36 states 774 LGA
Free Wi-Fi/data as previously promised decades ago that was lies/slogans
Free accessible housing in the 36 states 774 LGA
New hospitals and universal healthcare
Free education up to the PhD level in the 36 states 774 LGA
Massive investment in farming across all 36 states and 774 LGAs
GDP growth alone does not create jobs. Nigerians need employment opportunities now—especially the youth and graduates who make up a large portion of our population. Corruption must be confronted directly, not measured through GDP figures.
If these critical needs cannot be met, then with all due respect, Nigerians deserve leaders who will step aside and allow capable hands to move the nation forward.
The recent statement from the Finance Ministry, citing that savings from subsidy removal have been absorbed by debt servicing and increased government spending, raises further questions. Nigerians need clarity on how these funds are being used and why living conditions continue to worsen for decades
We demand you to act now. The future of 240 million Nigerians depends on bold, honest, and compassionate leadership.
ABUJA, July 30 (Reuters) - Nigeria's finance minister said on Thursday that savings from the removal of fuel subsidies and foreign-exchange market reforms had largely been absorbed by higher debt-servicing costs and increased government spending, as officials sought to defend reforms blamed for worsening living conditions.
