We rightly criticize governors who line up to bid Tinubu farewell at the airport and cheer his return pure sycophancy, and a waste of time and public resources at a moment when Nigeria desperately needs to cut the cost of governance.

But look at the reception Atiku Abubakar gets someone who is only contesting for president, not yet won and the crowds outpace what Tinubu gets as sitting president.

If this is the culture around a man who hasn't even held the office, what happens if Nigerians hand him the actual presidency?

We should be questioning the culture of political praise-singing itself not just when it's inconvenient, but everywhere it shows up.

This isn't about one man. It's about a political culture where praise-singing matters more than performance. As we head into 2027, Nigerians should be judging leaders by what they've actually done not by the size of the crowd waiting at the airport.

Nigeria deserves leaders judged by policy, not by the size of their welcome party.

Anyway... I can see our brother Kenneth Okonkwo is shining teeth and happy. No complain !
