Nigeria's Nwachukwu Retains Para-Discus Crown, Sets World Record as Oji Claims Landmark Silver in Shot Put

Nigeria pushed its gold medal count to seven at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after Goodness Chiemerie Nwachukwu retained her Para discus title with a world-record throw of 39.66m in the Women's F42-44/F61-64 category.

The 27-year-old's win came four years after she first claimed the same title in Birmingham, making this her second consecutive Commonwealth gold in the event.
