Someone said he will only do a traditional and church wedding and will never do a court wedding.
This is an important point many people are not aware of. A lot of people separate church wedding from court marriage without understanding the legal aspect.
In Nigeria, some churches are licensed to conduct marriages under the Marriage Act, which means the ceremony may be held in a church but the marriage itself is still a statutory marriage. The location of the ceremony does not always determine the type of marriage; the legal framework under which it is conducted does.
Understanding the difference helps people make informed decisions instead of avoiding something simply because of a name they associate with it.
